BBC broadcast about Frank Hornby (from 'Local Heroes')
Here you find the Meccano-part of the program 'Local Heroes', broadcast
on BBC 2 on Monday the 19th of april, 1999. I've coded the broadcast in
RealVideo.
You will need the latest (free) version of the RealPlayer to view them. The movie is available in
20 kbits/s stream for 28k modems, 45 kbits/s stream for ISDN (and 57k modems,
if you're lucky), and 80 kbits/s stream for double ISDN. If you have a slow Internet
connection, but want to see the better quality movies, choose the 'download' option;
you can download the movie to your computer and play it there.
If you can't use RealVideo, you can download the AVI-movie, but the quality is pretty low and the
size pretty big...
I've added a few stills from the broadcast, you can see the presenter Adam Hart-Davis standing in front
of the house Frank Hornby came to live in, and a some pictures of Rob Mitchell's Lego-Basher.
I hope I don't infringe too many of the BBC's copyrights...
More on the BBC's 'Local Heroes' programs can no longer be found on the BBC website.
